Non-degree Courses

UNU-EHS offers a number of non-degree courses, ranging from online lectures about law and climate change, to intensive courses on disaster risk reduction and sustainable development, in Bonn. UNU-EHS lecturers also work with partner organizations to co-organize non-degree courses, such as the Resilience Academy with ICCCAD and the Munich Re Foundation. Depending on the course and the partners, UNU-EHS offers face-to-face and blended learning classes around the globe, including in Bangladesh, Germany, South Africa, and Togo, to name a few.

Some courses offered are embedded within larger academic programmes run by partner organizations and others lead to a UNU certificate upon completion. In line with the mission of the institute all non-degree courses work to address various aspects of risk and vulnerability to environmental hazards as they relate to human security and sustainable development.

UNU-EHS welcomes both academics and practitioners working in fields related to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) to further develop their understanding in the institute’s non-degree courses. The problem-oriented nature and global setting of UNU-EHS’ non-degree courses allow for a classroom experience that is unique to a university within the United Nations framework.

Application procedures differ by course; please consult the specific non-degree course you are interested in for further information.
