This project aims to support the development of a long-term strategy for economic development and climate change adaptation taking the impacts of drought risk in Niger into consideration. To this end, the project will be focused on a preliminary assessment to estimate the value of conducting the costs and benefits of DRR/CCA investments, reflecting national development priorities, and fostering policy coherence in the area of disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation and sustainable development. in Niger. The project will seek to identify possible DRR and CCA measures which could be developed for selected geographical areas-including prioritised interventions according to strategic policies and current available economic analysis of DRR and CCA investments and will inform future application of the Economics of Climate Adaptation framework. By achieving its objectives, the project contributes to both the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (2015-2030) and the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically goals 8, 13, and 17.
