The application process for the International Joint MSc Programme “Geography of Environmental Risks and Human Security” is now open. The two-year Master of Science programme is jointly administered by the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) and the Department of Geography at the University of Bonn (GIUB).
The programme offers great visibility and exposure to international organizations, federal agencies, academic and non-academic research organizations, as well as private companies and corporations involved in disaster risk reduction and preparedness, humanitarian aid, international relations, research on climate change, food security, spatial planning and policy.
The Joint Master’s programme also offers a certain number of fully funded scholarships to students from developing countries. The scholarships are part of the EPOS funding scheme offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Since its launch in October 2013, a total of 166 students from 42 different countries have studied or are studying within the programme. A bachelor’s degree is required to apply, and most of our current students hold degrees relating to geography, environmental sciences, geopolitics, urban planning and disaster management. In 2020, the 8th cohort will join in October.
The application deadline is 15 December 2020.
