Our lead scientist Koko Warner talks about the harsh reality of climate migration with ZDF. As ZDF reports, the consequences of climate change have forced between 2008 and 2012 approximately 144 million people to leave their homes . And the number is growing.

A report by UNU-EHS and the Norwegian Refugee Council called “Disaster-related displacement from the Horn of Africa” offers an understanding of displacement patterns and trends in the Horn of Africa and explores what existing policy and legal options are available to those displaced by disasters. The report focuses specifically on displaced Somalis and Ethiopians in Kenya and the MENA-region (Yemen and Egypt). The report was launched at the Nansen Initiative Regional Consultation meeting in Nairobi.
