Heat is about people – an op-ed published by Thomson Reuters

    Today Thomson Reuters published an op-ed by Dr. Simone Sandholz on heatwaves, which are expected to increase in frequency and intensity in the future. Especially in densely built-up urban areas, citizens are likely to suffer from heat stress, which can be particularly harmful to vulnerable groups such as the elderly. Sandholz argues that any counter measures that authorities may take to combat heat stress must not only address infrastructure but also the people themselves, developing support structures in particular for the most vulnerable.
