Soenke Kreft, executive director of the Munich Climate Insurance Initiative (MCII) housed at UNU-EHS was interviewed by the German TV station Phoenix. He explained how climate risk insurance works to help vulnerable countries and people cope with the consequences of extreme weather and disaster and why it allows for faster recovery than previous mechanisms.
