Ms. Sandrine Meguieng Sidze was born on September 1985 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. She did her undergraduate work at the University of Yaoundé 1 where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Studies of English and French in 2006. Her interest for languages led her to prepare a Maitrise in Linguistics with a focus on the phonology of African languages in 2008 then a Master in Linguistics with a focus on the morphology of African languages two years later.
Ms. Sidze’s first professional post was to work as Teaching Assistant at the University of Yaoundé 1, in the Department of African Languages and Linguistics where she worked from 2010 to 2012. Concurrently with her teaching duties, she took part in the E-learning Project on “Working with moodle, Course development and the opportunities of E-learning” at the University of Yaoundé I, where she acquired competences in the use of ICT in education, with special knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), as well as quality assurance in learning. Interested in the opportunity to deepen her knowledge in the field of e-learning,
Ms. Sidze joined UNU-EHS as a Ph.D Researcher in January 2013. Her research interests focus on the role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as an accelerator for development processes. She focuses on designing and developing innovative public education models using Technology Enhanced Learning to strengthen individual and institutional capacities in the field of climate change and environmental related risks in Cameroon, and Central Africa.
